Keep the machines running that are changing the construction sector

At SL Materials, we make concrete that is up to 100% circular. Our factory in Zaandam runs day in, day out on machines we have developed ourselves: crushers, screening machines, conveyor belts, the Smart Liberator, and the Smart Refiner. Without those machines, there is no Liberated Concrete. That is why we are looking for mechanics who care just as much as we do about keeping them running.

This is not an ideal world where everything always works. It is, however, a workplace where your expertise truly matters: every hour of downtime is an hour without circular concrete.

What you will do

• Carry out preventive maintenance on our production and recycling machines.
• Analyse and resolve faults — sometimes quickly, sometimes stubbornly, always thoroughly.
• Coordinate repairs and keep downtime to an absolute minimum.
• Think about how processes can be made smarter, cleaner, or more efficient. Got a good idea? We're listening.
• Work alongside operators and fellow mechanics. No silos, just a team.
• Maintain safety standards for yourself, your team, and visitors on the shop floor.

What you will bring

• Technical MBO level of thinking.
• Experience as a mechanic in an industrial environment. Knowledge of production or recycling machinery is an advantage, not a requirement.
• Understanding of mechanics, electronics, and hydraulics.
• Problem-solving ability and the talent to stay calm when things break down.
• Willingness to work in shifts when required.
• An open attitude: you share what you know and ask when you don't.
